Description

Easily the rarest UK Go Feet release, this single marks the label's second and final attempt at exposing a new band. This time they chose a band with more of a pop sound with the hopes that they would catch on with a boost from the Beat. Known for their high-energy live performances, this was a band the Beat firmly believed in. Unfortunately the Arista promotion men showed little interest in the single, resulting in very little radio play. As Dave Wakeling put it:

We just didn't give the Mood Elevators the favor we thought we were doing them.

The Mood Elevators have a sound similar the bands that Two Tone would soon be promoting such as the Apollinaires and Higsons. Not ska, but close enough to fit in well with it. If you are a fan of the Beat, then you will probably enjoy this single.

Side A recorded at Regents Parks studios (London, UK).
Side B recorded at Sound Suite studios (London, UK) - this session also included an additional track entitled "You're Not Coming Home".
